Mental health nurse and sociologist

Ada currently works as a researcher and lecturer. Working with mental health patients can be traumatic but also humbling. Listening is important – Ada remembers a patient who was very distressed and went and lay in the middle of a road; Ada went and sat with her and listened to her and after a few hours the patient felt like she could get up. Ada was a quiet, shy child and still has moments of being surprised that she is a lecturer who can stand up and talk in front of hundreds of students.
